Attention Victims of Hurricane Ike

 

 

Should you suffer a loss on your home:

 

·        Make temp repairs to prevent further damage

·        Keep all receipts

·        Do not make any major repairs until the adjuster has assessed the damage to your home.

·        Take photographs of damaged property

·        Once your claim is settled and payment received have repairs done by a reputable contracter.

 

How to File a Claim

 

  • File a claim with your agent
  • If you are unable to contact your Agent you may file a claim directly with Columbia Lloyds at www.columbialloyds.com, phone number 713.528.6686, fax number 713.528.7003, toll free number 1.800.275.6768.
  • Please include a phone number where you can be reached by the adjuster and be available to meet with the adjuster at the designated appointment time
  • We will have an adjuster will contact you as soon as possible.

Current Claim Procedures in effect until further notice:

 

  • Checks are being issued in date order. There will be no exceptions. Walk ins will not be able to receive special treatment. We must be fair to all customers and you will receive your check in accordance with your place in line.
  • Check reissues under $5,000 will not be done until each one of Columbia Lloyds' policy holders who have an outstanding claim due to Hurricane Ike have received their initial check. Please contact your Agent to have all appropriate changes made so that when it is your turn for a check reissue, we have all the correct information.
  • Supplements will also not be processed until all Columbia Lloyds' policy holders who have an outstanding claim due to Hurricane Ike have received their initial check. If you are requesting a supplement, please collect three estimates from three different companies and have them ready for review.
  • We will not allow people to come to the office to pick up their checks. We mail checks on a daily basis. Our office is in Houston, so Houston customers should receive their check in the mail within three days after mailing (depending on how quickly the US Postal Service is able to deliver them.)
